My son graduated Magna Cum Laude from Seton Hall University last Monday!!! We are so incredibly proud of all he has accomplished and can’t wait to see what God as in store for him in the next chapter of his life!
I am reading the last book in the Vegas Shadows trilogy, The Bone Stalker. When I saw it on NetGalley I HAD to request it! I’m 15% in and it’s already keeping my interest. I hope Lazarus and Piper end up together.
I started listening to Five by Ilona Bannister thanks to Libby. I’ve been hearing good things about this one and the beginning has really drawn me in. I’ve only listened to an hour as of the writing up of this post.
I also started The Kind Worth Killing (a paperback I own) a few weeks ago. The first four chapters were really good! I am going to make this one a priority this week.
Randomly decided to watch this show because Netflix suggested it to me. It’s a really good show. I have one episode left in this season! I heard a second season was green lit.

It’s been a freakin week!!!!!! Monday my husband had a work dinner meeting so I got some housework done and then watched some TV. Tuesday my husband had a soccer board meeting after dinner and I pretty much went to bed right after he walked out the door. Wednesday my daughter came home from college for the summer and we went out to dinner after unloading all of her stuff. Thursday my parents came up to visit for the weekend as my son is graduating from college. Friday my daughter and I went shopping to look for clothes for the graduation (nothing like last minute running around because I can’t find a dress I am happy with). And I worked all week. Saturday was spent at the salon getting beautiful (I never spend money / do anything for myself but I decided it was time) and spending time with my family the rest of the day. Today is church, getting the dog situated with the sitter and heading to the hotel. Tomorrow is my boy’s college graduation!
Reading one hundred percent look a backseat this week. I sometimes didn’t even have the energy to read or even listen to a book, which is unlike me.
With that being said, I am reading The Night Collector on my Kindle. Book three comes out in June (that I have a ARC for) so I am trying to make this one a priority so I can get to the next book. Currently at 64%.
I am halfway through Pines, a series I’ve been wanting to read for awhile now. I’m a Blake Crouch fan. I may of seen this TV show when it came out because it’s feeling familiar… which is actually making me not want to finish the book. IS that weird?
I also started The Kind Worth Killing, a paperback I personally own. The first four chapters were really good! I may hold this one until later in the month when I am on vacation, but I haven’t decided if that’s gonna be the official plan yet.
I am also listening to It’s Not Her by Mary Kubica. My Libby hold came in and I accepted it instead of suspending it. I have so many books on suspend with Libby because I am not ready for them when it’s my turn, lol! This one is getting realllllllly good!!!
Randomly decided to watch this show because Netflix suggested it to me. They must know I like Matthew Goode! Episode 1 was pretty good- that’s as far as I’ve gotten.
Celadon Readers Program sent me a widget for Heather by Caitlin Mullen through NetGalley.
A rep for Little, Brown and Company sent me a widget of The Country Road Murders through NetGalley.
James Patterson Street Team sent me a hardcover copy of 26 Beauties.

Work and a whole lot of nothing else. My husband worked late most nights this week so I was just home with the dog, doing a whole bunch of nothing exciting.
Today is Mother’s Day! This is the FIRST time since I’ve been a mother that none of the kids are physically with me celebrating. I plan to spend the day with my husband and Rollo, and go for a hike since the weather is supposed to be in the mid 70s! If you consider yourself a mother in any capacity, Happy Mother’s Day to you!!!!!!
And one more week until my son graduates college. I have SO MUCH to do and I’m gonna be stressing all week trying to get everything done beforehand.
I am not too far in to The Night Collector. Book three comes out in June (that I have a ARC for) so I am trying to make this one a priority so I can get to the next book.
I have halfway through Pines, a series I’ve been wanting to read for awhile now. And I’m a Blake Crouch fan.
I finished Detective Hole. Great stuff all around!
Randomly I’ve been seeing some clips on TikTok of The Twilight Zone and the girl in the video is narrating what goes on in said episode she’s reviewing. I’ve seen a few random episodes before, and they were good, so I thought I’d watch a few more to pass the time.

New month… and a busy one at that. My son is graduating college in a little more than two weeks! And then we are planning a big family vacation at the end of the month to celebrate. I have a TON to do in order to be ready for both big events, so of course I am stressing already! One day at a time I suppose.
Also, I had my personal Facebook page for almost a year (remember how Meta said I was not a real person after having a Facebook page since 2012 and deleted my page, along with all my family memories?). I decided to make a Facebook page for my blog and attached it to my personal page. And I linked my Instagram to it as well. Lets see if Meta lets me have them all, or deletes all my social media pages on me like they did last year.
I barely started Run On Red by Noelle W. Ihli. The first chapter really drew me in, but I am not surprised as the other Ihli book I read was soooooooooo good.
Since I am trying to keep up with series books, I am reading book 2 of Arlington Hall, titled The Surrender. I am a little more than halfway done with this one.
And I will be finished with The Alchemist and An Amaretto by Annette Marie on Monday. I had a ton of time to listen while I cleaned my house yesterday.
I am almost done with this season of Detective Hole. And wow wow wow! I am also watching it in it’s original Swedish (with subtitles) as when the voices don’t match up to the lips I can’t focus on anything else.

I totally have not been on my laptop working on my blog, or social media at all this week. I’ve been actively reading A LOT (for me)!
My daughter came home from college this weekend. Her freshman year is almost over already, which is nuts!
My husband has been feeling under the weather all this week. He finally went to the walk in the other day and it turns out… he has a cold. He gets like a super huge baby when he’s sick so I’ve been taking care of him all this weekend, bringing him food in bed, giving him hot tea to drink and letting him rest. But now I’m starting to feel run down – lovely.
I am reading The Undoing of Alejandro Velasco by Diego Boneta. It’s an Amazon First Reads backlog book. It’s definitely a slow burn mystery so right now I think it’s just alright. I’m about halfway done with the eBook.
I just started Run On Red by Noelle W. Ihli. The first chapter really drew me in, but I am not surprised as the other Ihli book I read was soooooooooo good.
And since I think I need a break from thrillers (I read so many this month) I also started The Invitation by Jodi Ellen Malpas, another Amazon First Reads backlog book.
If you’d like to be friends with me on Storygraph, this is my profile page. I stopped using Goodreads and refuse to go back.
Still in my Joel Kinnaman phase, I watched the first episode of Detective Hole. And wow wow wow! I am also watching it in it’s original Swedish (with subtitles) as when the voices don’t match up to the lips I can’t focus on anything else.

The only thing of note is that my husband won free concert tickets on the radio and we went to go see Patrick Mayberry, Seph Schlueter and Crowder at the NJPAC in Newark, NJ. And the seats were fantastic- we were in the third row!!!!
The weather this week has been HOT during the day and GORGEUS at night. After work I’ve been sitting in the yard and trying to get my skin used to the sunlight again (so I don’t burn this summer lol). The dog has been loving being able to run around in the yard. Sunshine really does wonders for my soul!
Also, I need to catch up with everyone and I’m so sorry I’ve been super distant in the blogosphere. I have mostly just been avoiding being online for relaxing and reading time.
I am listening to The Launch Party by Lauren Forry, an Edelweiss ARC I received in 2024 and hadn’t gotten around to reading it via Kindle. It’s a slow paced mystery set on the moon. It’s not holding my attention at the moment so I have been barely listening.
I am reading Yours Always by Corinne Sullivan on my Kindle. I’m into the story and hope to have it done in the next day or so.
If you’d like to be friends with me on Storygraph, this is my profile page. I stopped using Goodreads and refuse to go back.
For no reason I am rewatching Altered Carbon. Joel Kinneman just does it for me, what can I say?

I did not post a Sunday Salon last week because my mother was in the hospital from March 30 until April 8, after her routine procedure did not go according to plan. My family is in North Carolina and I am in New Jersey, so I had only been getting text and phone call updates about her condition. It had been so hard being a million miles away from them during this rough time! She is currently home and doing well, thank God!
Easter Sunday was last week! The kids were home to celebrate the holiday with my husband and I. We did our traditional things like going to church in the morning, followed by watching a Sight & Sound DVD of Jesus. Then a nice relaxing dinner and we always play a board game after.
Of course, once we came home from church everyone changed into comfy clothes and we did not take one family photo. What a fail!
Also, I need to catch up with everyone and I’m so sorry I’ve been super distant in the blogosphere. I have mostly just been avoiding socials and being online for relaxing and reading time… and some video game time as well lol.
I am listening to Hellbound Guilds & Other Misdirections via Libby. It should be finished later today. I am reading Yours Always by Corinne Sullivan on my Kindle. So far it’s just alright but I’m only like 10% in. And still slowly getting through The Gone World by Tom Sweterlitsch. The heavy sci-fi aspects were intriguing at first, but starting to lose me as the story is progressing.

SUCH a rough week at work this entire week. The whole thing threw off my vibe when I got home. I didn’t read as much as I had planned. I played a cozy video game and really did a whole bunch of nothing, my brain too scrambled for much. Uugghhhhhh!
My husband and I went out to dinner on Friday night. We had a great time!
Made a lot of progress on Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister. Should be done with it before the month is over.
I saw The Gone World come up on my Tiktok FYP… billed as Inception meets True Detective and since Inception is one of my favorite movies I wanted to read this book. I borrowed the large print edition from my library. And honestly, I may be borrowing MORE large print editions of books because the small print just isn’t doing it for me anymore.
I just started Keep Them Close by David Ellis, a NetGalley ARC.
If you’d like to be friends with me on Storygraph, this is my profile page. I stopped using Goodreads and refuse to go back.
My husband and I started season 4 of The Chosen. It’s a rewatch for me, but he doesn’t know that lol.

Monday my husband had the day off of work, so after I got in the door I convinced him to take my daughter and I out to dinner (so I didn’t have to cook lol). We went to my daughters favorite local Italian restaurant and we had a good time spending time together.
Tuesday I went to work till 1:30pm, then had an appointment at 2:15pm and was there so long that I didn’t get home till after 4pm (the office is literally 9 minutes from my house). I was completely wiped out! Buuuuttttttt, while I was at work my neighbor had a tree removed from his yard, and the company grinded the stump of the tree. No markouts were put down beforehand, so when my internet stopped working a half hour after the company was out there working my husband figured they hit the internet cable in the ground. I had to be on the phone with the internet company for almost an hour (that was a long story). I ate dinner, took a shower and went to bed!
Wednesday I had had it up to here with one of my coworkers. I almost walked out! Very stressful day. When I got home I didn’t have the energy to even lift a finger.
Thursday the cable company came by after I got home from work and fixed the cable cord. Woohoo!! My daughter and I went to BJs and Walmart to get snacks and drinks to stock up her dorm room with. We also found ourselves at Chick Fil A afterwards, because what’s an afternoon of shopping without picking up food? Exactly!!!
Friday I had another appointment and left work early. Once the appointment was over I surprised my bestie at her work to say hello, and I saw all my other old coworkers. Friday was also my dog’s second birthday. We celebrated by giving him a big bowl of birthday treats with whipped cream. He loved it!!! And what birthday isn’t complete without a present. We got Rollo a new toy (like he doesn’t have enough, haha!!).
Saturday was a day to just unwind and relax!
And now today my daughter is going back to college! I miss her already and she’s still at the house lol. But she will be home in two weeks for a quick Easter break, which will be nice. My son will be home too that weekend, woohoo!
I started Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister but haven’t had a chance to really sit down and get into this one. That is my plan for this week!
For a group challenge, I am listening to The Forest Grimm on Libby. It’s definitely a fantasy YA story, so I am trying to power through it with a faster audio speed. I made a huge dent into this one yesterday and should be done with it sometime tomorrow.
I am almost done with The Silent Watcher by Victor Methos on my Kindle.
Gonna try this out and see how I like it for my weekly updates :)

My laptop crapped the bed last week, which totally messed with my blogging. The laptop got fixed and I will be back to regularly blogging this week. And I definitely need to catch up with everyone!
I definitely have been on social media less, and reading more. The weather in New Jersey hit 70 degrees on Monday and Tuesday so I was out in the yard, soaking up the sunshine after work, reading a book. Then Wednesday the weather was cloudy out and probably around 60 degrees, and I gave myself some outside time to read. Thursday the weather dropped down to 35 degrees and SNOWED in the late afternoon! Yes, it was only a dusting on the grass but still…. I ALWAYS fall for false spring.
My daughter is home from college for spring break. She has no plans but to relax at home. She takes after her mom, haha!
I started Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister. A time traveling thriller story… sign me up!!!
I am reading The Silent Watcher by Victor Methos on my Kindle. I am almost halfway through the story and I am really liking the main characters. I want to see where this story goes, so I am hoping to really make a big dent in this book this week.
Gonna try this out and see how I like it for my weekly updates :)
For a challenge I am doing in a Facebook group I had to choose a book off a specific list to start reading later this week. I borrowed the audiobook of The Forest Grimm by Kathryn Purdie from my library.
I got my hands on an e-ARC of David Ellis’ newest book Keep Them Close. I am so stoked to read this one!

Not a whole lot happened this week. I actually haven’t really been feeling like doing much of anything after I got in from work. I haven’t been on social media or bothering with me blog much this week either. I got quick housework done right after I got in the door, then threw on pajamas and mostly watched TV while laying in bed or lounging on the couch. I haven’t really felt like reading, which sucks.
I’m halfway through Strange Houses by Uketsu. It’s a different writing style, but I am intrigued and want to know what’s going on with all those houses. I am hoping to have this one finished in a few days.
I am listening an ALC of Judge Stone by Viola Davis and James Patterson.
I am reading The Silent Watcher by Victor Methos on my Kindle. I am not far in as I keep falling asleep before I can really get into the story.

I went back to a comfort TV show, and randomly started season 5 on Thursday night. Technically, I’ve seen season 1 through season 14 before… so no spoilers please lol. Figured I’d just watch the rest of the season and then get to the last season and see how it ends (pretty sure the internet spoiled it for me but still).

What a week! The snow from the crazy storm like two weeks ago finally completely melted on Friday and I finally saw the grass. Then on Sunday afternoon we got hit with a ridiculous blizzard! After it was all said and done we probably got 20″ of snow on the ground. My husband finally came in the house from his last snowblowing escapade and I was making him some food to eat. We sat down at the kitchen table and all of a sudden we hear this loud bang and the house shook. Turns out our neighbors old ass tree snapped a huge limb and it hit the roof and slid down the side of the house into our yard, landing on our AC unit. Now my husband gets to deal with our insurance company, which is always unpleasant.
I took this photo the morning after it happened.
I’m putting February behind me and looking forward to my March TBR I semi- planned out.
In typical fashion, reading on my Kindle has been slow-going, so I am still reading Served Him Right. I am liking the story though so I hope to have it finished by next weekend.
I am listening to Taming Demons For Beginners by Annette Marie. I want to start the month off strong and I know I will enjoy this book!
For a reading challenge I am doing the prompt is read a book by a Japanese author. I found Strange Houses by Uketsu at my library. I am pretty much going into this book blind and hoping for the best.
If you’d like to be friends with me on Storygraph, this is my profile page. I stopped using Goodreads and refuse to go back.
My husband and I binge watched the whole season of A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms this week. The series is only six episodes (boooooo!) which felt so short. We definitely liked the show and the twists were typical Game of Thrones worthy. Highly recommend if you’re into Game of Thrones or House of The Dragon.

Work has been a complete shit show this entire week! I’ve actively been looking and applying to jobs since before Thanksgiving… no luck yet.
Both of my children came home from college this weekend!!!! They haven’t been home since we dropped them off a month ago. This is the longest either one of them has been away… our schedules just didn’t work out to go pick them up. ANYWAY! We had a great weekend, literally zero plans but just spending time together (we ended up playing two board games after dinner last night), and they’ll be going back to their colleges later this afternoon.
We are supposed to be getting 12″ to 18″ of snow today. WHAT THE ACTUAL F***!!!! The snow from three weeks ago only melted on Wednesday, are we kidding right now!!!! Lets pray that it does not snow that much and the kids can get back to college safely, and my husband there and back safely.
Legit, February has been my WORST reading month in a long time. I DNFed books left and right (I would read a couple of pages and just put the book down not wanting to read it). I honestly can’t even give an exact number because I didn’t even mark down that I started &/or DNF the book on Storygraph or my reading spreadsheet. I also was so stoked to listen to Malice by John Gwynne, and about 30 minutes into the audiobook I turned it off and can’t get back in to it. It’s definitely ME and not the story. But now I have to put myself back on the waitlist with Libby for it again and that’s annoying since I waited all this time for it to begin with. UGH!
ANYWAY! What I actually AM reading. I started reading a book off my bookshelf, as part of my Personal Stack Challenge this year. You’ve Been Warned by James Patterson is “a dark, propulsive psychological thriller for readers who crave moody, big-city atmosphere, breathless pacing, and the intoxicating dread of chasing desire while disaster whispers just off-frame.” – Storygraph. It had that old school Patterson vibe, the quick chapters that just grip you and you wanna keep turning pages! THIS is what I need right now!!
I haven’t gotten too far into Served Him Right by Lisa Unger. The book comes out in March so I do have a little bit of time to get through it and have a review up before publication date. Gonna use this one for a HRCYED 2.0 prompt as well.
After a small snafu (it was on my end, ssshhhhh!) with my Scene of The Crime audiobook I received last week, I got the widget link to finally work and have been listening to Her Last Breath by Taylor Adams. This one is starting off really good!!!! The small space vibes is definitely creeping me out, in a good way.

I am currently trying out Pagebound. This is my profile page if you’d like to be friends on the app. P.S. I barely use the app and only remember it when I make these Sunday posts. By March I may just ditch it altogether…. we’ll see.

Nothing too exciting happened this week, which is nice.
On Friday my husband and I both had the day off of work, so we went out to lunch at a new resturant that opened up a few towns south of us. The food was just alright, but we had fun trying out the Duck Pin Bowling.
Saturday was Valentine’s Day. Since we went out to lunch the day before we decided to order in food and eat at home. Normally we do the heart shaped pizza from the local pizzeria but we are trying to eat better and passed on it this year.
Today no real plans are planned. I always get the Sunday Scaries because I am just not a fan of my new work place… a post for another time lol.

I honestly have BARELY been on social media this whole entire week! After I got home from work I would listen to an audiobook and do a puzzle. It’s been a breath of fresh air actually. I finished two puzzles this week, which is a huge accomplishment for me.
The dog decided to chew three of the pieces
Wednesday my husband and I went out to dinner with our friend and his wife. We had a great time hanging out, just catching up, and the food was delish!
I am making my way through Dead In The Water by John Marrs. So far it’s a good book. Some themes in this book are hard for me to read and this is why I am taking my time with it.
I am dual reading/listening to Empire of Silence by Christopher Ruocchio. I tried just reading it back in November and life got in the way and the book got put on the backburner until it had to be returned to the library. The audiobook hold came in via Libby so I borrowed it along with the book again. I only had the audiobook for two weeks from the library and they are gonna take it back later today (OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!) because at the time of writing up this post I am only 81% in, aka I have FIVE AND A HALF HOURS LEFT in the audiobook! Let’s pray I can finish it before Libby snatches it out of my grasp!
I am going to start In His Wake by Chad Zunker today on my Kindle. He’s a familiar author whose books I enjoyed and I need something of a palate cleanser from the denseness of Empire of Silence.

If I am not listening to an audiobook while doing a puzzle, I put The Golden Girls on as background noise. The show is on Hulu. It’s a classic and still cracks me up!

Life was pretty good this past week. Had a day off of work on Monday because of all the snow and ice, so the husband and I spent the day in the living room doing our hobbies (him video games and me reading). Tuesday I had a delayed opening so I was expected into work at a later time, obviously. The work day went by so quick! Wednesday my husband had an after work meeting, Thursday he bowls after work and Friday he went to a concert with some work buddies… which means I was home after work with the dog those three days. Did I get a lot of reading done? OF COURSE NOT! :( I got a lot of a puzzle done while listening to The Golden Girls in the background lol. What a slacker if you ask me.
Saturday I was asked to work. School isn’t open on the weekend, how can you work? It’s what we call a “catering”. A school activity is taking place and they need use of the kitchen. To ensure safety someone who works in the kitchen must be present. My manager (who is the person who normally does it) could not attend due to a prior commitment so she asked me if I would like to. I agreed.
I am going to start Dead In The Water by John Marrs today. I am borrowing this ARC copy from a friend. I actually really like Marrs’ books so I am not sure why I am having a hard time starting this one.
I needed one more book to complete a category for HRCYED 2.0 and chose a book I already own that fits the prompt. I am not far into You Shouldn’t Be Here by Lauren Thoman. The premise is interesting but there’s a character already that is making me want to put the book down and never open it again. We shall see if I can get past it…

Like I said above, I threw on the first season of The Golden Girls while sitting doing a puzzle. The show is on Hulu. It’s a classic and still cracks me up!
I liked another Harlan Coben TV show and Netflix has now suggested a ton of them for me to watch. This one was pretty good too!

I’ve been coughing since pretty much right after Christmas, then all of a sudden it got out of control on Tuesday, to where I felt like total crap! I ended up taking the day off of work on Wednesday and went to the doctor in the morning. They checked my lungs, asked me a few questions about the cough, looked in my mouth/throat, and said it’s just a post nasal drip (since I am not coughing up anything). I was given medicine to help stop my cough. The doctor said it could take up to a week to completely stop coughing. So while the meds are helping out I am still coughing most of the day. I am just completely over all this useless coughing! P.S. so is my husband lmao!
I am writing up this post on Saturday night, and we are supposed to be getting some huge snow storm around the time you will be reading this post. I checked in with the kids to make sure they were safe and situated at college. Let’s pray it’s not as huge and monumentos as the news is making it out to be so we can get on with the rest of January. P.S. I won’t know if I have to be at work on Monday until later today, depending on the roads and snow and all that.
I am almost halfway through The Invisible Woman by James Patterson and Susan DiLallo. James Patterson is a comfort author for me. His books are filled with short, fast paced chapters that keep me reading.
I picked up my Kindle finally, and dove in to The Bone Queen by Will Shindler. Will I finish it before it publishes in early February? Don’t think so, since I am reading at a sails pace lately. But, I am trying and that’s all that matters. I am currently around 20% last time I remember looking.
I put myself on the wait list on Libby for Nine Pines by Kiersten Modglin. It was my turn to borrow it the other day but I just haven’t been in the audiobook mood lately. I am only an hour in at this point.

Life this week has been a challenging one and I do not want to get into it right now. It’s been a very stressful new year thus far, with lots of drama and tears. Absolutely NOT how I wanted to start 2026!
I did get to spend Thursday night out with my daughter. We went to Chik-Fil-A for dinner, to help support Tim Tebow’s Night To Shine which is being held at my church again this year. My daughter is constantly online and always has the phone in her face (like most young adults do these days) and it was awesome that she put her phone away and we just spent mom-daughter time together.
But now she has to go back to college today, as spring semester starts on Tuesday. She’s been home since December 17th and I am sure it’s going to be a hard transition for both of us to deal with. I’m gonna miss her already and she hasn’t even left yet.
Currently:
My progress in The Shadow of What Was Lost mostly halted, for no real reason other than I haven’t been in a fantasy mood lately. Some of what is currently going on in the story was confusing me and I am not in the mindset for having to think hard while reading, so I didn’t pick this up this week. I may just return it to the library when it’s due and come back to it. I haven’t decided yet.
I decided to start reading The Invisible Woman by James Patterson and Susan DiLallo. James Patterson is a comfort author for me. His books are filled with short, fast paced chapters that keep me reading. I made a decent amount of progress in this book yesterday!
My Kindle has taken a backseat since every time I pick it up I cannot find a book I want to get into and just put it down. None of my ARCs are calling to me.

I reached out to Macmillan to ask them for ALC of this audiobook, as I listened to the first book in the series last year. They were so nice and sent me one via NetGalley. I enjoyed the audiobook! My review is on Storygraph.
I didn’t know what to listen to once I finished Inside Man, so I borrowed The Shut-In, a Bookshots audiobook from Libby. This one was alright though. With most short stories they sometimes feel rushed at the end. I did not really care for the ending and my rating reflected that.

I did not read this book but just decided to turn this one the other day. And pretty much binged it! The cast is great and I was invested in what happened to Paige and why she ran away from home. Yes, it does get a little repetitive with the “She’s my daughter I have to find her” from Simon, Paige’s dad. But I get that it moves the story along so I let it slide.

This first full week of January has been crazy busy and super stressful. I am still coughing from when I was in North Carolina, and it’s driving me batty actually.
Monday was the first day back to work since the holidays. It was uneventful, but I was exhausted when I got home. My son’s college friends came down to south Jersey to hangout with him.
The kids do not drive (this is a long story that no one cares to hear, lol) so I have to drive them places. They both had a passport appointment on Tuesday (because a vacation may be in the near-ish future). They both had a dentist appointment Wednesday for a regular check up. And my daughter had a dermatologist appointment on Thursday. So after work I had to come home, change and get them to where they needed to be.
Friday I went to work like normal. Ran a quick errand afterwards, then I finally got a chance to put my feet up and relax when I got home.
Saturday we went to my husband’s parents place to do the family Christmas thing with his side. We had a very nice time there!
I straightened up the house all morning while the boys went to church (I didn’t go because I am still coughing like a champ). My daughter slept in, but I like cleaning while no one is under foot lol.

My progress in The Shadow of What Was Lost mostly halted, for no real reason other than I haven’t had a real chance to sit down and pick it up. I am enjoying the book though. I want to finish this trilogy this year too so I am gonna definitely make time for it this upcoming week.
I picked up this ARC of Murder at 30,000 Feet by Susan Walter. Do I have an irrational fear of flying? Yes I do. Why the hell did I sign up for this book you ask? Because I’m crazy, haha! These people are stranded up in the sky with a murderer on board as someone found a mutilated body in the bathroom. Wild!

My review will be posted at the end of the month, but lets just say that I am very much into this series and liked this book a lot!
I did read this ages ago, but wanted a quick reread to finish the series up later this year. I liked the book. Definitely riding the mid 2000’s YA love triangle coat tails like all dystopian books at that time did, but overall I was into the book and read it at a quicker pace than I normally do.

I actually listened to the audiobook of His & Hers by Alice Feeney on NetGalley when they first introduced audiobooks to their website. I gave it five stars because of the twist at the end. The audiobook MADE this book absolutely fantastic! So when I heard this was gonna be turned into a show I had to watch it. At the writing up of this post I watched three episodes.

We were in North Carolina visiting my family for the holidays. We arrived on December 23 and stayed till January 1. We had a good time, but all good things must come to an end. It was definitely nice to see my family and get to spend a lot of quality time with them. We probably won’t see them again till the springtime (unless we Facetime lol).

When we got to North Carolina the weather was crazy warm, then got super cold, then it got warm again… so guess who ended up with a head cold and cough? Ya girl Melissa! Been trying to fight it off the entire trip and this whole weekend too. Ugh!!!!
I straightened up the house all morning while the boys went to church (I didn’t go because I am still coughing like a champ). My daughter slept in, but I like cleaning while no one is under foot lol.
Tomorrow I have work *multiple crying emoji’s*. Definitely not looking forward to going back there.

I am making good progress in The Shadow of What Was Lost. And I am really liking this book! It was not finished in 2025 but that is okay. I want to finish this trilogy this year too.
I stopped reading an ARC I wasn’t vibing with, and decided on a whim to borrow the eBook of Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard from Libby. I am doing a challenge in January that this book fits into, and since I wasn’t feeling another thriller ARC I changed it up. YA’s are easy reads and I think that’s what my brain needs right now…
