Like I said in my previous announcement post, I am just reading the books I WANT to read and try to fit them into HRCYED prompts.
Here is how it’s going with only seven months left in the challenge:

Not too bad if you ask me.

I tracked this challenge on a Google Spreadsheet this year as well as a tag on Storygraph. Here are my results!

I listened to 58 audiobooks this year. My aim was “binge listener (20-30 books)” and I passed that goal in mid July!

As of the writing up of this post, and taking into account assuming if I would finish the books I am currently reading or not… This is how I did in all my challenges this year.

Completed 5 out of 10, so half isn’t too bad.

Title: Warping Minds and Other Misdemeanors
Author: Annette Marie and Rob Jacobsen
Format: audiobook
Length: 6 hours 34 minutes
Rating: 3.5 stars
Publication Date: August 25, 2020

COYER Library Love

I liked the characters in this book, but something about the story won’t let me rate it above 3.5 stars. I think my mind is wanting to compare it to the other series that Annette Marie wrote, and while they are in the same universe, this one just has a different feel. It was not a bad story, and I will continue on with the read-along.

I started off the month strong with Sci Fi books, but then got swept up in reading my ARCs and Sci Fi’s got moved to the back burner.
I read two Sci Fi books and they were both great!

I am hosting two challenges on Storygraph next year, and I would love if my fellow bloggers (who also use Storygraph) would join in with me! Challenges are more fun when done with friends.
2026 Audiobook Challenge (it will be my third year hosting)
2026 Borrow Books From The Library
Let me know in the comments if you join in!

This challenge is perfect for me, as it’s as low key as it can get. My goal was to read 20 books all summer long. I surpassed that goal at the end of July.
The #20BooksofSummer2025 challenge runs from Sunday June 1st to Monday September 1st every year.

I want to thank Annabel and Emma for taking the reigns and not letting Cathy’s challenge fall by the wayside.

While doing normal things related to books on my computer I came across a YEAR LONG challenge called Hardest Reading Challenge You’ll Ever Do, aka HRCYED. This is the second year it’s being hosted (hence the 2.0 lol) by Qwordy. It’s all the craze apparently as I know quite a few folks on Instagram who are joining in. It started on July 7, and since I saw it on Aug 6 I thought I would just backlog the few books I read in that timespan and not be that far behind in the challenge.
This challenge is meant to challenge you and your reading, really helping you branch out and read books and authors you normally wouldn’t.
There is also a spreadsheet and since you know I LOVE me a spreadsheet, I was totally game!
My goal for this challenge is to literally read the books I WANT TO READ THIS YEAR AND NEXT and hope they fit into the challenge. I just want to have fun with this one and see how well I am actually do.
Seriously, there is a ton of detailed info on the page listed above, and on her YouTube channel. It’s best to get all the deets there than for me to try to type it all out in this post.
WILL YOU BE JOINING IN FOR HRCYED2.0? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS!
P.S. I plan to do monthly updates on this challenge (or as close to monthly as I can manage haha!)

This challenge ran from June 1 through July 31, 2025. The only real rule is to listen to audiobooks using the library (Libby, Hoopla, etc). And to have fun!
I listened to SIX audiobooks with Libby during the challenge time frame.

I am SUCH a library girly!!

Good morning fellow readers! I am a mood reader, but since I am doing a summer reading challenge I wanted to plan out all the books I want to get to in June, July and August.

I have a good amount of ARCs publishing in the summer months, so I am prioritizing getting through them before publication day! Gonna try my best. Trying to get that Netgalley ratio up!
I also want to read these beachy summery cover books by the author who got me back into reading as an adult, James Patterson. His books are short chapters and quick plots and I devour them!
This list is by no means permanent. If any Libby holds come in I will more than likely accept them, and they are not on the graphic above.
Q: How many books do you plan to read in the summer?

On this post I will be listing the books I read this year that are on my Netgalley shelf or my Edelweiss shelf. This post will continuously update as I remember to do so, lol!
My goal is to read 20 books off these shelves in 2025.
