Since I am Delusional… #HRCYED2.0

While doing normal things related to books on my computer I came across a YEAR LONG challenge called Hardest Reading Challenge You’ll Ever Do, aka HRCYED. This is the second year it’s being hosted (hence the 2.0 lol) by Qwordy. It’s all the craze apparently as I know quite a few folks on Instagram who are joining in. It started on July 7, and since I saw it on Aug 6 I thought I would just backlog the few books I read in that timespan and not be that far behind in the challenge.

This challenge is meant to challenge you and your reading, really helping you branch out and read books and authors you normally wouldn’t.

There is also a spreadsheet and since you know I LOVE me a spreadsheet, I was totally game!

My goal for this challenge is to literally read the books I WANT TO READ THIS YEAR AND NEXT and hope they fit into the challenge. I just want to have fun with this one and see how well I am actually do.

Seriously, there is a ton of detailed info on the page listed above, and on her YouTube channel. It’s best to get all the deets there than for me to try to type it all out in this post.

WILL YOU BE JOINING IN FOR HRCYED2.0? LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS!

P.S. I plan to do monthly updates on this challenge (or as close to monthly as I can manage haha!)

  1. I’m doing HRCYED, or rather my own version of it. I backdated to 1st June after seeing the announcement when it was released – because I was reading books that month that I wanted to count.
Like you, I’m mostly reading what I want to read then fitting them in. But I am also using it as motivation to finally pick up some books in my collection that might otherwise be neglected for a while yet.
I’ll look forward to seeing your progress updates

    1. Good luck on your HRCYED journey! And yes, I’m definitely grabbing books off my TBR that I’ve neglected to read and hope they fit into the prompts. I just want the challenge to stay fun, since it’s a year long. Once challenges aren’t fun anymore I bail on them lol
